BC Bike Race 2010 Day 2 Video

I came across this video the other day by Gian Malar who was a racer at the BC Bike Race this year. He did a great job catching the Forbidden portion of the race on his helmet cam.

The video starts off on the Bevan Trails, connects to Bears Bait, then continues on Two Sheiks (don’t be deceived, there’s a long ride up a logging road to get there!), Cabin Fever, Slither, Transmission, and Catnip. Some of my favourite trails…

It’s approx 40 minutes long and definitely worth watching when you have a moment. Enjoy!

It’s definitely tough cardio-wise. They ride ~70 km/day for 7 days. Challenge course riders do ~30 km/day. The terrain can be also be challenging depending on where you’re from and what you’re used to.

Thanks for sharing the video. You aren’t joking about the logging. I am surprised to see the trees laying about. The trail looks like loads of fun.

I’ve gained a recent interest in mountain biking and wanted to know what kind of bike is the best, I’ve got a shimano right now, but read about mountain bikes and hear it’s not as good as gary fisher… I don’t have tons of money, is mine good enough?

WOW, awesome. I would have to say the riding up there presents a new challenge. While we have rocks and a lot of rocks, I can see where downed trees can jump up and bite you. I would love to get up there and ride. Would be a nice change from South Texas.

    Thanks for posting.

You’d love it! Totally different from what you’re used to and we would have you bunny hopping logs in no time :)
