Well okay, the week isn’t over yet! The weather here has been great so I’ve been taking advantage of it. I didn’t ride Tuesday to recover from the Plunge on Monday (ankle was a bit sore afterwards) and then did an easy night ride with Colin last night. He finally found the charger for his old BLT light and so we went to check them to make sure they were still working and the rechargeable battery still had lots of life. We chose Moe’s Misery since it was an easy trail we both knew well and should his lights fail, an easy hike back to the car. Fortunately his lights worked, the battery held out, and now I have someone else to night ride with.
I also had an excellent idea of attaching my camera to my bike with one of those flexible tripods to see how that would work. Turned out to be not such a great idea afterall. The camera wouldn’t stay upright and the constant vibration of the ride broke the tripod piece the camera attachs to. Oops. I think it’s time to invest in a proper helmet cam so I’m looking at this one.
Here’s what I did get on video. I thought I’d include it anyway since it’s good for a laugh… Kind of reminds me of the Blair Witch Project.
Oops… So much for that tripod… from Teresa on Vimeo.
Today I took my friend, Pascale, over to Cabin Fever since she had never done it before. It was a really good ride and something a bit different than our usual rides out in Cumberland. Turns out she had done the trail before, but didn’t realize it until we were about halfway down. We then finished the ride by doing Transmission, which is directly across from where Cabin Fever ends, and our usual Bears Bait which takes us back to the parking lot. Now if I could just get her to invest in some lights for night riding…
